Patrick County Economy
Seems that everyone knows by now that our economic boom has not materialized. Having been through many recessions, this one is the most difficult.
Our Governments, Local,State,Federal; must be more conservative with our tax money and reduce spending. Employees wage and benefits have declined as taxation has increased. This can not continue. We must start spending only within existing revenue.Stop creating a ,"funding cliff", that we are getting close to stepping into the unknown!
We have to stop using one time funds to increase the size of future budgets. This is a large part of the reason we are in a difficult budget period.
Every Department Head should have one goal in-mind; find ways to save money! Not look for ways to spend and then Tax! A balanced budget must have equal Revenue and Expenditures!
